Claudia and Hugo’s journey began when they met in high school in their local Blue Island, instantly clicking over shared hard work and traditional values. While chasing their dream jobs and a better life, something unexpected caught their attention: Churros.
While searching for authentic, traditional churros in Chicago, they realized it was nearly impossible. Claudia’s family back in Mexico had always owned a bakery, and her mom shared the secret to making the most delicious handcrafted churros.
That’s when inspiration struck. With Claudia’s creativity and Hugo’s passion for business, they decided to do something about it.
Together, they created SugaChurros, a one-of-a-kind shop where the rich tradition of churros meets innovation.
With her mom’s cherished recipe and shared vision, Claudia and Hugo began to perfect their churros, serving them alongside unique, handcrafted drinks in a warm, welcoming atmosphere.
